Rambles
The MGR has a very active group of people who take part in the weekly rambles.
On Wednesdays, the rambles are about 3 to 4 miles long with most people taking part enjoying lunch together after the walk.
The weekly Sunday rambles attract about 25 people, and are normally about 5 to 6 miles in length, although during the Summer months, there may be the occasional 7 mile ramble, and sometimes a tea stop during the ramble.
Also during the summer, we have Friday evening strolls of about 2 miles then back to the pub for a chat after.
The area covered by the rambles are from Godstone in the west to Wrotham in the east , and as far south as Cowden.
Golf with MGR
A well established and friendly Golf Society which has been in existence for over ten years.
The Society has about 20 members and ranges from beginner to expert.
They meet Mondays and Fridays and consider Chelsfield Lakes their “Home” course.
They also visit other courses nearby. The Cray Valley 18 and 9 hole courses are popular at the moment.
Driving Ranges are available nearby for beginners and improvers.
The occasional golfing week-end away in another county has been arranged recently.
In November 2007, members and non players visited the Algarve, Portugal. The golfers played four different courses. This was a most successful venture made all the more enjoyable in the pleasant sunshine.
New Members, including beginners, are assured of a warm welcome with plenty advice and assistance from our regulars.
