The 25th October saw over 100 members attend the club’s Halloween Evening at the Crofton Hall.
As you can see from the photographs, many of our members took advantage of the occasion to dress up in their normal evening wear, and what a scary looking bunch they are!
The evening was a great success, however some had to leave early to ensure they arrived home before sunrise.
March saw over 20 club members travel down to Eastbourne for a long weekend. Some superb coastal walks and stunning scenery on the South Downs ensured an excellent weekend.
The photo shows some of the club members who have just climbed to the top of the Downs at Cuckmere Haven, ready for the walk back along the coastal path to Eastbourne.
More walking weekends are planed for this year.
Ah, Spring is here at last and Jazz bands play under the colourful brollies for the crowds and a nearly young man’s fancy… well, trad jazz helps keep you young in MGR Social Club… Jimbo the parade leader doesn’t look like he approves. Must keep his brollie ladies in order!
A great band – East End (inserted right) played to over 270 ravers into the small hours at Oakley House on Bromley Common. Some of the earliest MGR members mingled with our newer friends and a terrific night was had by all. East End can often be seen playing at Botley Hill Farmhouse
Bikers had their usual fancy ride to celebrate Christmas – I’m not at all certain of the fairy though.
Another Bonfire night went with a big bang as usual at John & Jan’s. I still can’t think how it was that John went up in smoke as the guy – he was top man earlier this year, must have done something wrong!
Why the garage? Was it too loud? Wet? No! Jan’s hot potatoes were on! Oh well then – drinks all round..
