Joining MGR
The cost of MGR annual membership is £25 from April to April with roughly pro rata reductions for each month less, plus an additional once only registration fee for new members of £5. Please request an application form to be sent via e-mail or post if you are interested in joining us.
We are a group of people living within a ten mile radius of Bromley and Orpington, who for one reason or another, find ourselves on our own. Our age range is from 40 upwards.
What kind of events do we hold and how many?
* Dances (all types including lessons), Holidays and short breaks, Meals out, Pub nights, Parties and Barbecues, Rambles (2 or 3 weekly), Concerts, Theatre, Jazz, Quizzes, Bowling, Cycling, Tennis, Badminton, Golf, Yoga, Scrabble and anything else our members want to do together.

* Events usually total around 90 a month, averaging nearly 3 each day!
What is our aim?
To provide opportunities for members to get out and about, make friends and acquaintances, to have some fun sharing interests, maybe also help them to start some new activities with others
When was MGR founded?
In 1972 as a social club for single people (that is, single by virtue of being unmarried, widowed or divorced). MGR since then has grown to around 600 lively people with widely ranging interests and backgrounds.
How is the club run?
By a committee (elected at an Annual General Meeting) consisting of seven members. The committee then elects its own Chairperson. Each month a comprehensive programme of social events is planned by the committee, mainly of submissions by the members, often via a sub-committee member and circulated to all members by a monthly programme.
